15 years of AMES Engineering

This year we celebrate the 15th birthday of our AMES Aerospace and Engineering Services GesmbH which was founded in 2004.
Starting as a development and engineering service provider, we have held our EN 9100 approval since 2005 and the EASA DOA approval since 2006. Together in the AMES Group we also hold approvals for CAMO, POA and Part 145.
Over 1500 certification projects and a total of 1100 transitions reflect our enthusiasm for aviation and our extensive experience in the AMES Group.

AMES CAMO has successfully renewed the OTAR approvals for Bermuda, Cayman and Guernsey for a further two-year period. This will allow us to continue supporting aircraft transition requirements with these efficient authorities.

New STCs for ELTs and ULDs

As a service to our customers, we are further expanding our STC portfolio with approvals for the installation of portable- and fixed ELTs as well as ULDs.

Many customers and operators seem to be unaware of the updated certification requirements for lithium batteries.
According to the official EASA guidance material and the EASA special condition on non-rechargeable lithium batteries, any modification or installing these batteries is to be classified major, unless the Special Condition is recorded in the TCDS of the aircraft. Our AMES DOA is able to assist with navigation through these requirements.
